Import of currency exchange rates from the NBR website

NBRO() Description

The NBRO() function is designed for automatically obtaining the official exchange rate of the Romanian Leu directly from the website of the National Bank of Romania (bnro.ro) by specified code and date.

The NBRO function significantly simplifies working with currency exchange rates, especially for those who work with finances or keep records in various currencies. Instead of manually entering rates, you just need to use this function to get up-to-date data.

Also, you can use the "Official Currency Exchange Rates" tool, which inserts the currency rate for selected cells in one click.

Main Characteristics of the NBRO Function

Syntax:

=NBRO(CurrCode; CurrDate)

Parameters:

• CurrCode: The alphabetic code of the currency for which you want to get the rate.
• CurrDate: The date of the currency rate establishment.

Example of Usage

The NBRO() function is easy to use. You just need to enter the currency code and date into the corresponding cells of the formula, and Excel (Calc) will automatically retrieve the actual currency exchange rate:

=NBRO(CurrCode; CurrDate)

In this example, the following values are used:

• CurrCode: A2 - the alphabetic code for the US dollar ("USD").
• CurrDate: D1 - the date of the rate establishment ("01.03.23").
